The Association of Business Executives was founded in 1973 by a group of industrialists, educationalists and politicians as a non-profit making institution.

The object of the Association is the promotion of efficient administration and management in industry, commerce and the public service by the continued development of the study and practice of administration and management.

Membership is not restricted to U.K. residents and examinations are conducted internationally.

Course Structure

Certificate in Business Administration

The four compulsory papers are:

1. Introduction to Business
2. Introduction to Quantitative Methods
3. Introduction to Accounting
4. Introduction to Business Communication

Registration and Conditions of Entry

No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must demonstrate competence in the English Language by attainment of one of the following (or equivalent):

1. British Council - Intermediate Certificate in English/Upper Advanced Certificate in English.
2. LCCI English for Business 1st or 2nd Level.
3. RSA (OCR) - English Language Stage II. Or
4. Confirmation by their College of equivalent standard in the use of English.

Diploma in Business Administration

Part I

The four compulsory papers are:

1. Economics
2. Organisational Behaviour
3. Accounting
4. Business Communication

Part 2

The four compulsory papers are:

1. Marketing
2. Quantitative Methods
3. Human Resource Management
4. Managerial Accounting

Students must also pass one of the following options:

5. Principles of Business Law
6. Systems Analysis

Registration and Conditions of Entry

Applicants must have attained one of the following entry requirements:

1. ABE Certificate.
2. Two GCE 'A' Level passes plusfour GCSE passes at Grade A.B, or C, two of which must be English and Maths.
3. Such overseas qualifications which, following University of London guidelines, may be accepted by the Registrar as being equivalent to the above.

In addition, the ABE also welcomes applications for student membership from intending Diploma candidates who, although not holding a formal qualification, have been in appropriate employment for at least two years. A reference letter from employer(s) must accompany all such applications.

Advanced Diploma in Business Administration

The three compulsory papers are:

1. Corporate Strategy
2. Management Organisation
3. International Business

Students must pass two of the following options:
4. Strategic Marketing
5. Corporate Finance
6. Strategic Human Resource Management
7. Managing the Information Resource

Registration and Conditions of Entry

Applicants must have attained one of the following entry qualifications:

1. ABE Diploma in Business Administration.
2. A degree, awarded by a recognised UK or overseas University.
3. Other recognised qualifications of approved overseas Institutions of Higher Education <top>

   

 

Institute of Business Administration and Management

 

IBAM is an operating division of the ICSA group with a qualifying scheme designed specifically to provide knowledge and qualifications for people involved in business administration and management.

IBAM is a collaboration between the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

The IBAM qualifying scheme is based on a modular structure so that each subject has its own complete learning programme. There is a full range of programmes available covering most aspects of business administration, operations and management.

To gain an award, you will need to complete a programme, which, after a period of study, includes an assessment of your understanding through a system of assignments plus an examination.

By completing a series of modules, you can extend your qualifications to be awarded:

IBAM Diploma in Business Administration
and
IBAM Advanced Diploma in Business Administration

The Diploma comprises five individual subject certificate awards and the Advanced Diploma a further four certificates.

London College of Business and Computer Studies is an approved teaching and examination Centre for the Institute of Business Administration and Management.

The London Chamber
of Commerce and Industry
(LCCI)

The qualifications of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry are internationally recognised and widely accepted by employers, professional bodies and Governments agencies both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

The LCCI was started 105 years ago. From the handful of students and young working people who took the first courses back in the 1890s to over 500,000 entries last year, the LCCI Examinations Board has been at the forefront of world-wide vocational development.

London College of Business and Computer Studies is an Examination Centre for the LCCI Examinations Board.

Course Structure

The College provides tuition on the following subjects to students who wish to sit for the following Third Level Group Diploma examinations:

Diploma in Business Studies (Third Level)

In order to obtain a Third Level Diploma in Business Studies, candidates must pass any 3 of the following subjects within 12 months:

Accounting Advertising
Business Information Business Statistics
Systems Cost Accounting
Economics English for Business
Information Processing Marketing
Principles of Management

Individual certificates are however awarded in all foregoing subjects.

Third Level Group Diplomas

(a) Candidates must pass 3 different subjects to be eligible for the award of a Third Level Group Diploma.
(b) The stated compulsory subject(s) must be passed, plus the requisite number of option subjects, which must be selected from the pool of options.
(c) A Third Level Group Diploma must be gained in one series of examinations.
(d) Third Level Group Diplomas are available on any of the above subjects:
